Homecoming Week

3.10. - 5.10.2012

That was one of the things I looked forward to the most (: It is a week where the whole school dresses up and does crazy things in the evening like Powder Puff, Buff Puff, and Dodge ball.
Monday was Lumberjack day. In the evening I played Powder Puff Football, that is flag football and just the girls are playing (:
Tuesday was twin day. I didn’t have a twin though so I didn’t dress up..
Wednesday was Hippie Day.
Thursday was Pajama Day, which was my favorite one (:
Friday was Purple and Gold Day (our school colors). During the last period we had an Assembly in the Apple Bowl (our Football stadium) where each class showed a dance which we practiced the whole week before school and of course we, the seniors, won (: And in the evening was the Homecoming Football game, where I was not allowed to go.
Saturday was the Homecoming Dance where I wasn’t allowed to go either because of my first Host family…

Yap I don’t say much to that, if you guys want to know write me (;
I can just say Travel Works was grate in supporting me and my parents.
And always believe in what you’re thinking, and stand up for it. Just saying… ^^

My new host fam is amazing. I love them.
I have 4 sisters which are 11, 13, 15, and 17. We have a dog (even though we don’t like each other ^^) and a cat.

First day of school

Before my first day we already went in to choose my schedule which is:
1^st Spanish 1 (I love my teacher she’s awesome)
2^nd Sophomore English (that was a horrible class)
3^rd US History (that was a great class too because my teacher was awesome too ^^)
4^th Leadership (that’s an amazing class which all exchange students should take)
5^th Photography (that teacher was crazy, but at least I got student of the month for that class (: )
6^th AP Calculus (I like it, but we did what we did 3 years ago in Austria)

The day before my first day was picture day, so I went in got my picture taken and picked up my schedule.
On the 31^st school for students 10^th-12^th grade didn’t start before noon. But for new student there was an orientation meeting before that. The ASB students showed us around the building and showed us how everything works. Then I ate lunch with became my best friend afterwards.
After lunch my classes started and then I went home. It was a pretty good day :D

Abflug / New York

2.8.2011

In Düsseldorf angekommen habe ich natürlich alle gelben T-Shirts gleich gesehen. Wir sind zusammen einchecken gegangen. Ich hatte natürlich Übergepäck aber die Dame am Check in war so nett und ich hab nix zahlen müssen. (: Der Abschied war kurz und schmerzlos (zumindest für mich, weiß nicht so ganz für meine Mama^^) und dann waren wir auch schon im Flieger.

As we came to our hotel in New York we were allowed to choose our roommates, 3 per room. Us three already decided on the airport in Düsseldorf that we want to be in one room. After that there was only dinner and then time for us. But since we were all tired we went to bed pretty early.
On the next day we had an orientation meeting in the morning. First we were all together in a big room where we talked about all the rules. Afterwards we got divided into groups. In those we played games and talked a little bit more about rules ^^.
In the afternoon we finally were heading towards New York City in our small groups. As we first saw the skyline we were all impressed. (:
First we took a ferry around the statue of liberty, then we went on top of the empire state building (and of course right then it had to start to rain /: ) and then we went to eat dinner at times square at. When we came out of Hollywood Planet it was already really dark but you couldn’t see that because the lights were so bright as if it would be daylight, it was incredible! Then we headed back to the hotel.
The next day we started the day by eating breakfast in NYC. Afterwards we went to the museum where night in the museum was set in. then we went eat lunch at a pizzeria. Afterwards the others went into central park, but since I was really sick and nearly threw up I didn’t go and waited at the bus. Afterwards we went shopping at the pear. Back in the hotel we decided not to sleep because the first of us three had to leave the hotel at 3.30 in the morning to get to the airport. I will never forget that night, it was really fun.
The next day was the big day, we flew on to our host families.
When I arrived in Wenatchee it was 6 pm perfect time. My family picked me up from the airport.

Visum / Letzter Tag in Österreich

Also der Visumstermin, war eig alles ganz locker. Ich bin hin gekommen und dann haben wir gleich mal nicht den Eingang gefunden. Ich hab mir so flaggen vorgestellt und so, nein gar nix nur ein kleines Schild, naja ^^. Dann bin ich hineingekommen musste mich mal anstellen dass ich hinein komm, dann die Sicherheitskontrolle. Dann musste ich mich anstellen um die ganzen Dokumente und Reisepass abgeben. Dann durfte ich mich hinsetzen und aufs interview warten. Es gab 2 Schalter, der Mann auf dem einem hat deutsch geredet und der am anderen englisch. Ich wurde dann zu dem englischen gerufen. Es wurden nur die Fingerabdrücke genommen, und gefragt hat er was ich in den USA machen will. Und ob ich schon weiß wo ich hin komm. Er kannte Wenatchee :D ^^

Also heute ist mein letzter Tag in Österreich, in 3 Std. fahren wir weg nach Holland. Dann verbringen wir noch eine Woche bei meiner Cousine und am 2.8 geht’s dann auf den Düsseldorfer Flughafen.
Mein Koffer ist schon gepackt. Ich hatte zuerst 26 kg und da ich ja nur 23 haben darf hab ich wieder Gewand ausgeräumt.. und jz sind es ein Koffer mit 22,5 kg ein Handgepäck mit 8 kg, eine Laptoptasche (mein Rucksack) und ein Packet mit 12 kg was ich nachschicke.

Meine Gefühlslage ist eig, hm ka ich bin jz nicht nervös oder so... Ich glaub das kommt dann wenn erst am 2.8. ^^

Uuund mein cooles gelbes T-Shirt ist auch endlich gekommen :D zusammen mit einem Eltern und Schülerhandbuch (:

VBT und 2. Rundbrief

Vor 2 Wochen war mein Vorbereitungstreffen in Salzburg. Wir waren grad mal 15 Leute (liegt aber daran dass alle in Deutschland am vbt waren (;  ) und 6 davon gehen in die USA :D
Um 10 Uhr hat‘s begonnen und dann haben wir einen Vortrag über die ganzen regeln und Visumsanträge, halt über alles ^^, gehört. Das ging so bis um halb 2 und dann gab’s Pizza (: nachher wurden wir in Gruppen aufgeteilt und mussten unseren Gegenstand beschreiben. Dann noch wer wird Millionär gespielt und dann war‘s auch schon wieder 5 und wir sind heim gefahren. (:

Letzen Dienstag kam der 2te Rundbrief der übers Visum geht. Jz muss ich das Online Formular ausfüllen und einen Termin im Konsulat vereinbaren. (:
Ich freu mich schon auf den 3ten Rundbrief, das Final Package, weil der kommt kurz vorm Abflug und dann is es endlich so weit :D und dabei ist ein gelbes Leiberl dass wir zum Abflug anziehen müssen :DD

Wenn’s bei 2. 8 bleibt flieg ich schon in 65 Tagen :DD

Hi, jz ist mein Countdown ja schon 2stellig 94 tage wenns wirklich stimmt..
Am di haben wir nämlich bei TW angerufen und die haben gesagt dass das noch nicht fix ist ):

Naja die Anja was auch mit TW fliegt hat diese Woche ihre Familie bekommen und fliegt am 2.8. :D
aber bei ihr ist das schon fix (: hoffentlich bei mir auch bald, weil dann sind wir zusammen in NYC und das wär zu geil :D

Meine high school is home of the panthers (: und die schulfarbe ist lila :D

Am montag hab ich late start um 9.45 am und an den restlichen tagen normal um 7 am

Ich hab noch immer noch nicht rausgefunden wie viele schüler an der schule hat, naja .. xD

Und zum schluss noch ein seeehr spätes frohe ostern (;

aja die Eierbecher sind von travelworks (: ^^
